KTA

KTA (Kaldus Transit Authority) is the public bus network for all of Kaldus. Public transit will be considered as an essential resource, and therefore local service will be affordable. There will be 2 types of services. Local which will serve the providence, and the edge of neighboring providences, and long haul which will travel further. For local service, the routing system will remain consistent throughout the entire nation. The numbering scheme is to assure to the passenger that they are on the correct route. KTA will also have an app for smartphones that would provide times based on bus stop, and show where the buses are located. This means all buses will be GPS trackable which will make it easier to find the route. Within the providence, the routes will be as follows:

  • Letter+1 digit: Busway / Rapid Transit Route
  • Letter+2 digits: Primary Route
  • 1 digit+letter: Secondary Busway Route
  • 2 digit+letter: Secondary Route

A Providence Capital City is the city where provential government’s seat is located at. This is usually the largest city of the providence. With that said, the routes will operate with this knowledge in mind. Also, every major community will receive a number. For example, Frankstown might receive a 15 as its designation number. All buses with 15 in the routing scheme will serve Frankstown as the origin, or destination. In example, E15 will serve the eastern portion of the providence with a destination to Frankstown. 15S will start in Frankstown, and serve the southern portion of the providence.

A letter + 1 digit will run on the busways, or rapid transit route. In the providence’s capital city, there will be dedicated bus lanes, and in each of the four directions – there will be busways. For example, the E9 will run from the capital city center, enter the east busway (hence the E), and run to the eastern neighboring providence. An E1 might run a bus lane that would be marked as red to notify the auto drivers that the lane is restricted.

Letter + 2 digits will be a primary bus. These buses will run on main roads, and destination/origin will always be in the providence capital city’s center. These buses are take longer to run than the busway buses, but will serve more communities, and have a bigger ridership whereas busway routes will only be attracting people along the busway.

1 digit + Letter will serve a busway, but not the providential capital. A destination might be the university campus.

2 digit + letter will serve the regular public roads, but not the providential capital. In example with above is that the 15S: Frankstown will serve Frankstown, and the souther portion of the providence.

Long Haul Routes

One could bus hop their way to one side of the nation from the other side, but this most likely will be unrealistic. Instead, there will be long haul routes which will be inter-providential transit. This could include buses, or trains. Due to the demand on fuel and environment, aircraft to serve such routes will be limited – therefore opting to make KTA the primary choice for such routes.
