Acquiring Services

Acquiring services will be handled a little different in Kaldus. The goal is to reduce the chance of fraudulent usage on the system. This will apply to everyone including foreigners, and in a matter of fact, it is likely the reason why a foreigner will want a GIN so they can acquire Kaldan services. The customer will need 2 items. The first is their ID card. This will be compared with the person requesting services, and if the two faces match, then this will be a positive match. If doing online, the person will upload an image of their ID card. This should only be uploaded to verified companies.

The second thing that is needed will be the GAON. The GAON is the government’s way of saying that yes – this person is who they say they are, and yes they want services with your company. The reason for this is the person must go to the government’s website, and login. They then must use the business’s Business ID Number to acquire a GAON. That GAON can only be used with the person that created the GAON. This means Frank can not create a GAON, and Joe takes that GAON to the company that Frank wants service with, and use that. On the ID card, is the NIN which is compared for acceptance.

Acquiring Services in Person

Assuming the person has a GIN, ID Card, and NIN, they will follow the same procedure. The first thing they will do is log into the government portal. This can be done by going to https://gov.ka/login. They will then select acquire GAON, and provide the Business ID Number. Only licensed businesses will have a Business ID Number. If the person forgot to acquire a Business ID Number, they can either call, or refer to the first 11 digits of their telephone number. They will then submit the request. Within a minute, a GAON number will be created along with a QR code. The person can take the image, or print of the QR code to take with them.

The customer will then go to the business and request to setup services. They will provide the QR code which the representative will scan and ask for the ID card. The NIN of the ID card will be compared with the one provided by the GAON for a match. The representative will also compare the picture of the person, the picture on the ID verify screen, and the person submitting the card. If all three faces match, then the representative can be assured they are dealing with an authenticate person. The representative will then set up the account, and the customer can activate services with the company. An email will be sent to the authenticated address to notify the person that an account has been setup in their name as well as all of the respective details.

If the applicant does not have it, they can also download the image file for their ID card.

Once all of the numbers, and images were acquired, the applicant can go to the official website, and activate an account. They will need to provide their GAON (copied from the government site), NIN (likely to know off by heart), and upload an image of the ID card. Once this happens, the account is created online. This account is in a temporary status which will function like a regular account, but the ID verification team will compare the image received with the one in the database. If it matches, the account is fully active, and the customer will receive an email that the account is fully active. This will be why it is so important to not provide the ID image to anyone except companies you wish to do business with.
